      What is mudra in yoga?

Mudra in Yoga – Mudras are a set of physical movements that can change your mood and attitude. Also increases concentration and alertness. A mudra can be a simple hand position, or it can encompass the entire body in a combination of asanas, pranayama techniques, bandha exercises, and visualization methods.
Yoga mudras are ancient symbolic seals that may hold the key to deepening your connection to your yoga practice. Mudra in yoga has a deep history within the practice, and you’ll love it.

Mudras are hand positions with powerful effects on the prana (energy) in the body and are therefore typically performed alongside pranayama (breath control) or meditation in order to amplify the effects of these practices. Hasta mudras tend to accompany postures such as padmasana (Lotus Pose), vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose), or sukhasana (Easy Pose).

The most commonly used mudra in yoga are given below:

      • Gyan mudra or chin mudra
      • Dhyana mudra or meditation mudra
      • Anjali mudra or prayer position
