When was the first international yoga day celebrated?
The first international yoga day celebrated on June 21, 2015. In India, the first international yoga day was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The theme of this first yoga program was “Yoga for Heart“. At the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the people of India, stressed the importance of yoga for the overall health of body, mind, society, and even our climate, saying, “Let’s have our motto – Yoga for Peace, Harmony and Yoga Progress“.
