Bhakti yoga in Bhagavad Gita: One of the three types of yoga given by Bhagavad Gita is Bhakti Yoga. According to Peter Bishop, a person’s loving dedication to a personal deity as a means of achieving spirituality. Another two paths are jnana yoga, the path of wisdom where one seeks knowledge and introverted self-understandings as a spiritual practice, whereas karma yoga is the path of virtuous action without hoping reward or outcome where one does the right thing, or nishkama karma. Raja yoga was later adopted as a fourth spiritual path by new Hindu movements, however it is not generally acknowledged as being separate from the other three.
