Asamyukta Hasta Mudra or One Hand Gesture
Indian Classical Dance Kathak by Asamyukta Hasta Mudra. Asamyukta mudra is the name for one hand gesture or hand movements.
According to the definition given in the scriptures, a hand gesture is the structure of our hands that impresses the gods and the true believer is free from all hatred, anger, and other vices.
Hastas for asamyukta are performed using just one hand. According to the Bharata’s Natyshastra, there are a total of 64 hand gestures, of which 24 are asamukyta, 13 are samyukta, and 27 are nritta hasta. However, the Abhinaya Darpan lists 55 hand gestures, including 32 asamyukta hasta mudra and 23 samyukta hasta.
