    वामदेव और शिव शैव योग साहित्य अमानस्का में बातचीत करते हैं, जो 12 वीं शताब्दी या उससे पहले की है। पुस्तक का दूसरा अध्याय राज योग का संदर्भ देता है। यह दावा करता है कि इसका नाम इस प्रकार रखा गया है क्योंकि यह योगियों को अपने सर्वोच्च स्वयं, भीतर के शानदार राजा से जुड़ने में मदद करता है। राज योग आनंद की स्थिति को अशांत के रूप में जाने का दावा करता है, जो शांत, शांति, स्वयं के साथ संवाद और संतोष की प्राकृतिक स्थिति है।
